My name is Amaris Velez Candelaria. I obtained my bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico (PUPR) and graduated as class valedictorian. Currently, I am a student at the PUPR pursuing a master's degree in Computer Engineering. As both a CyberCorps scholar and CAHSI advocate, I am given the task to participate or collaborate on professional development activities related to the field of computing. I've also had the opportunity to participate in formal research projects both inside my university through the research program for honor students and outside my university through an internship at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
